Alphington Church Fete 20/6/15

fete3b

A wonderful afternoon of sun, fun, food and fellowship was had by all.

The morning of Saturday June 20th was grey and damp here in Alphington, but that didn’t deter the wonderful team of people led by Bill, in the unloading and putting up of gazebos and tents, plus loads of tables , chairs and many other things, for the fete that afternoon.
By the time noon had arrived things were in place, Adrian was at the BBQ, tea was made for the helpers by Mary and the tea tent team, and by 2pm we were ready to open the gate.
What a wonderful afternoon we had: the sun shone, music from Alphington Little Big Band and Ray Hill kept us going swingingly, we had a wonderful performance from children from the Exeter Academy of Dance, and Lizzie sang for us.
It was an afternoon of fun and happiness, with stalls to buy from, games to play, and crocks to smash, and tea from the wonderful tea tent, or ice creams from the delicious Orange Elephant stall. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. So a huge thank you to everyone who supported us in any way, we could not have done this without you!
In next month's Alphington Life we will print the list of raffle prize winners, and credit the amazing generosity of our sponsors. (Eira Rowe) fete5b
