Chatterbox is the community café run by the church, with volunteers from the wider village, held at Alphington Village Hall.

It has a warm, friendly and relaxed atmosphere, and lots of local people use it regularly.

It is open every Friday morning between 9am – 12 noon. Parents, why not pop in after you have dropped your children at school? There are plenty of toys for toddlers. Roseanna our Church and Community Worker is usually there to welcome parents and little ones.

Later in the morning some of the older residents take their place! It’s a good place to come and meet friends, or just enjoy a cup of coffee while you read one of the newspapers kindly donated each week by one of our regulars.

As well as fair-trade tea, coffee, hot chocolate and cold drinks; we offer toast, crumpets and home-made cakes and cheese scones, made and donated by staff and customers.

You are welcome to borrow books and jigsaws from our library.

There are no fixed prices – customers are welcome donate whatever they wish. Our vision was to offer this service to the community, and we are encouraged that for the 10 years we have been open, each year the finances have just broken even – God’s provision in practice!

Do come and join us – meet old friends, make new ones. A warm and chatty welcome to all.
