St Michael’s has eight bells and a dedicated team of ringers.
The ringers practise on Wednesday evenings, usually from 7-8.30pm.
The tradition of bell ringing is an ancient part of British culture. Our team will always encourage visitors who would simply like to see how it’s done, and of course learners will also be welcomed.
We make a point of ending our practice at 8.30pm. Details of time when bells will be rung can be found in the calendar.

During Lockdown, our ringers were unable to enter the tower as a team. But the bells still sounded out over Alphington, bringing joy and calling us to worship on a Sunday morning. The full peal of bells is once again heard, now lockdown is ended. Listen below to what one person can do….
