Keeping our visitors safe
Following recent inspections of St Michael’s Tower, we have decided to restrict access to the Churchyard on the North side of the tower. This means that some people who might want to tend ashes graves will not be abe to do so… and we are deeply sorry. However, safety is of first importance. There have been a couple of incidents recently where masonry has fallen from the tower. Until we are able to know for sure that the stonework is secure, this action is essenatial. The Church Council have ordered a full inspection of the stonework, and further decisions about possible repairs will be taken once there is a clearer understanding of the probem.
